Flash Gordon: # 1 and #2 Golden Age 2 Comic Lot Both Rated 6.5 ( FN+)Harvey Comics Golden Age : Flash Gordon Volume 1 Issue No.1 and Issue No. 2, this set should stay together after all these years!Issue #1 OCT 1950 rated 6.5 : This comic has been evaluated based on CBCS criteria as follows: Post publication 1/8 in diameter perforations ( 2) at the top of all pages, back and front cover( for display purposes) , small tear with out loss ¼ in bottom cover edge, good color , mild dulling of reflectivity typical of this era comic, staples well centered, with light stress, 1/8 to ¼ in color breaks or stress lines toward cover front, flat spine, single pencil mark in “ F” on cover, single ½ in diameter moisture mark, and light rubbing line vertical full length of front cover (appears to be a printers or binders mark). Inner pages off white to cream and supple. Back cover shows staple stress as noted for front (mild) and some color change from white to cream, light handling. Overall appearance of moderate to gently handling, lightly read display comic, rated 6.5 due to display perforations as a 7 or higher can have NO losses.Issue #2 DEC 1950 rated 6.5 : This comic has been evaluated based on CBCS criteria as follows: Publication era of 1/8 to ¼ in cover offset from trim line, light moisture stain rear cover, “ dent” or bend with out crease or color break upper right corner, ¼ in tear upper right corner, centered staples with no stress lines, vibrant color with mild dulling on reflectivity typical of Golden Age era comics, two light pencil marks on white background of cover. Pages are off to cream and supple, 50% appear to be cut up to 1/8 in off thus margins appear slightly angled. Rear cover is cream to light tan from age. Over all appearance is that of an unread copy with a bend or “ dent “ to upper right corner, otherwise well preserved, rated 6.5 due to bindery flaws plus ¼ in cover tear .
