Description
New World, Native American, Southwest, New Mexico, ca. 1940 CE. Made by the people of the Santo Domingo Pueblo (Kewa Pueblo), this is a pretty pottery canteen with a flattened red and orange side that allows it to sit with its spout pointed upward. The other side is painted a creamy beige, with delicate black decoration of seed pods. Twin looped handles have a thin, twined string between them. The spout is small, with no pronounced rim. Size: 9.15" W x 6" H (23.2 cm x 15.2 cm)
