This building started as a one story unfinished shop purchased at the Singing Tree in London. As an early part of the Smallsea Collection, it was built to order for Diane Birnberg by Carol Olsen and Leon Pitt (retired) of Think Small, Chicago. From a one story shop it became three floors: the first floor entrance hall, the second floor show room and shop and the attic floor tailor's work room. As with all the Smallsea buildings, maximum use of the space was achieved by careful design and creating the illusion of depth. The majority of the decorative accessories are artists' made and all of the dolls are custom as are the mannequins clothes.
