Description
This is the Michel Lee Landa English Translation of Pierre Cabanne's original french art biography, Edgar Degas, printed 1958 in France for publication by Éditions Pierre Tisné (Paris) and Universe Books (New York). This is in its original slipcase and clear plastic wrap, each of which has moderate wear, but both of which are still useful protection. The book itself is very good to near fine. The cover (app. 9" x 11"), textured green cloth backing, applied color art, debossed black type, has light sunning to the spine and some borders, but no other stains. The spine is straight and securely attached. There is no fade to the art or lettering. The only internal flaw is discoloration to the inside cover spread borders. There are no stamps or other attachments, no writings or notations. There are no tears, and only two shallow corner creases. The binding is tight, with no loose or missing pages. The pages are clean throughout the book, with no stains or scuffs, There is no fade to the art. The many laid-in color plates are as new.
