Description
Slip-Decorated Redware Plate, Pennsylvania origin, probably Philadelphia, 19th century, with coggled edge, the interior decorated in yellow slip with a wavy band of lines flanked by two straight trails with flag-shaped ends. Provenance: A fresh-to-the-market example, purchased in Pennsylvania years ago. Four flakes to interior. Three chips to exterior edge, visible when plate is turned over. Two in-the-firing pings to underside, the large measuring 3/4". Diameter 7".
