Description

A Mid Century Short & Mason Barometer & Thermometer Set in Zebrano Wood. Designed by Sir Kenneth Grange. This piece was one of the last of the Short & Mason range to be manufactured before they merged with Taylor instruments in 1969 and the barometer set appeared in the Design Journal in 1965. It was conceived by Sir Kenneth Grange, British industrial designer who was famed for numerous commissions including the Intercity 125 train, pens for Parker and cameras for Kodak. A major retrospective of his work by the Design Museum took place in 2011. Untested, measures 9.50"x2.50"x5". Weight is 2 pds 3 oz. PROVENANCE: A Private Charleston SC Estate.
