Description
Pre-Columbian, Ecuador, Jamacoaque culture, ca. 500 CE and Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Colima, ca. 300 BCE to 300 CE. The larger is a figural whistle from the Jamacoaque culture with a bulbous head and smoothed body - perhaps made to resemble a baby in a papoose. This figure comes with a stand. The other is a whistle shaped like a four-legged animal with perky, triangular ears and a short snout - perhaps a dog. Both are functional and the animal makes a truly piercing sound. Size of largest: Size: 1.15" W x 2.75" H (2.9 cm x 7 cm); height on stand: 3.75" (9.5 cm)
