CONTINENTAL COTTON AND LINEN TABLE RUNNER, plain- and basket-weave, with cotton and silk cross-stitch embroidery and fringe, rectangular, with seven joined panels, and two narrow fringe strips at either end; panels alternate red and white with center panel being white, four panels being red, and joined with flat fell seam, the linen panels having selvage edges, cotton panels have either each edge roll hemmed or one selvage edge and one roll hem, self-fringed; design featuring back to back set of peacocks on the two narrow white panels, the four red panels having simplistic vining floral design. Late 19th/early 20th century. 49" x 14 3/8" OA.
Good condition overall with scattered small stains, fading.
