BARBARA PRIESTER MID-CENTURY ETCHING SHRINE: c. 1960, Barbara Rausch Priester (1920 - 2014, America), intaglio etching on paper titled, 'Shrine' and depicting an abstracted telephone pole, signed titled and numbered 4 of 20 in graphite, in the margin, 29.75"h x 19"w. BIOGRAPHY: Barbara Rausch Priester Deely earned a B.A. from Smith College (Northampton, Mass.) in 1942 and a master’s in fine arts at the University of Iowa in 1986. She was a founding member of Studio 15, a Davenport art cooperative, a potter, a printmaker and a painter, who also worked with encaustics during her later years. She was an enthusiastic supporter of the Davenport Municipal Art Gallery and served on its board.
