Description
A rare Early 19th century OHIO schoolgirl hand embroidered cross stitch sampler, titled Sarah S. Comly,Sampler, dated October 28, 1825. The sampler is embroidered with a Religious Quote.Size of frame, 31 1/4" Height by 19" Width, size of image, 22" Height by 11 1/2" Width.*Sarah Comly (married name) was born in Pennsylvania, a Quaker, in 1797, then moved to Columbiana, Ohio. Her maiden name was Whinery. The sampler was completed in 1825 in Ohio. She passed away in 1858.
Condition
Good, loose in frame backed with board, some staining and discoloration.
