This lot consists of the original painting on canvas twice signed 'Francis Bacon' en verso. The unframed portrait is a grotesque image of British painter Lucian Freud set against a maroon background. Done in the abstract impressionist style of artist Francis Bacon (Irish, 1909 –1992). The verso of the painting shows two signatures both on the wood of the stretcher reading 'Francis Bacon,' one in paint and the other in ink. Work measures 11.75' x 12'.
