Condition
Dramatic lot in overall good condition.
The quality and uniformity of the elements in addition to the Clodion-designed urns suggest that the
candelabra were original Barbedienne designs. The uniform, soft gilding exhibits the expected oxidation
throughout. One arm with a darkened area which may indicate an old crack. The lamp rods issue from an
upright leaf-form opening (one of which appears to have been restored). The original center candle cup
forms the finial, now with a removable flame-form bronze stopper (the interior of one of these is bent but
inserts smoothly).
The arms not electrified.
The lighting elements of one example needs tightening.
Height to top of handles: 18-1/4".
