With 18 (of 20) chromolithograph plates, signed in the plate by Pope. (folio) 49.7x40.5 cm (19½x16 "), 19th century full brown morocco elaborately tooled in gilt.

Magnificent series of chromolithograph plates of purebred dogs, quite rare. Originally issued in 10 monthly parts. The original front wrapper to one of the parts, with title and imprint, bound in at front. There was no printed title page. For each plate, there is a leaf of descriptive letterpress, followed by a blank protective interleaf, then the plate mounted on a thin board.
