Description
This is an excellent 1946 Ford Fire Truck Pumper Model 698T from the Chico Hot Springs in Pray, Montana. The consignor purchased the fire truck directly from the Chico Hot Springs over 12 years ago and it has since been professionally restored and used in parades. The fire truck’s exterior and chassis was professionally restored by Krown Restorations in Wilsall, Montana with the cab being left to its original condition as last used by the Firefighters. The fire truck features the original Flathead Ford V8 engine with a restored exterior paint job and pin striping along with the correct fender mounted sirens (one with a red light), cab roof mounted light, and cab accessed spot lights. The truck shows all the original pumper parts, but the pump has not been tested. Each door and the rear show the “Lone Tree Fire Dept.” graphics. The fire truck pumping components are manufactured by FMC High Pressure Fog Fire Fighter Lansing, Michigan along with the various box steps which are also marked FMC as shown. Inside the glove box shows the original Ford Motor Company tag stating that the vehicle has a max gross weight is 14500 LBS, CERT. NET H.P. (horse power) of STD. V-8 Engine 87 at 3500 RPM, Engine No. 699T 1322729, Model 698T. The piece has over $35,000 invested.
