GERMAN WOODEN DOLL KNOWN AS "TUCK COMB". 14 ½". Carved wooden shoulderhead and torso with defined carved tuck comb at crown, painted black hair with fancy forehead and side curls, painted brown eyes, arched brows, tiny closed mouth, wooden body with articulation at shoulders, elbows, hips and knees, painted stockings and red flat shoes, wears antique green silk dress and bead necklace. Commentary: Grodnertal region, circa 1840; has wonderful painting of stippled curls around her face, original costume, First Place ribbon from 23rd UFDC Annual Conference; tip of right foot broken off, otherwise very good condition with excellent coloring.
