Keisai Eisen (1790-1848) was a Japanese ukiyo-e artist who specialized in bijin-ga print designs of beautiful women. In addition to producing a prolific number of prints, he was a writer.

Impression Very Fine. Skillfully executed "bokashi" shading; light "gauffrage" (embossing) to kimonos; "burnishing" to black areas; crisp lines, highly detailed carving. Condition Good++ to Very Good. Excellent colors. (Vertical folio center-fold; areas of soiling; scattered marks/stains; wear. Two wormage holes left/center repaired by backing.) Retains original folio backing.
