Description
1690 Prohibited Book Appendix ad Fasciculus Rerum Ortwin Anti-Catholic Codex
A rare, second edition of the Appendix to Ortwin’s “Fasciculus Rerum” or, “Collection of Things to be Sought & Avoided”. This work was a collection of letters and treatises on ecclesiastical history, dogmas, canonic law, which were intended to expose many of the problems in the church. It was put on the Index Librorum Prohibitorum for being too ‘anticlerical’. (Schlanger, Ortwin, “Catholic Encyclopedia”). Lowndes refers to this as a "curious and esteemed work, a collection of fugitive pieces intended to display the errors of the Church of Rome. "
