Antique print; pristine chromolithographs mounted on original card stock; page tipped-in color. Photographed on a black background. Printed the same year of President Ulysses S. Grant’s death. Louis Prang (1824-1909) was an American printer, lithographer, publisher, and Georgist. He is known as the “father of the American Christmas card”. He is also known for his war maps, printed during the American Civil War and distributed by newspapers, and his efforts to improve art education by publishing instructional books.
