Dixon, Maynard (United States, 1875-1946). San Francisco portraits. c. 1904. Sketch on paper. ++ "San Francisco Character #6" or "J.C. with hair cut." Figure a man with goatee. Unsigned with Maynard Dixon stamp in brown, date and titled on bottom. Titled and dated on back of frame with signed label on back from Edith Hamlin Dixon, the artist's wife. 4 5/8" x 3". Matted and framed under glass: 10 34" x 8 3/4." ++ "San Francisco Character #7." Figure a man in side profile with a hat. Unsigned with Maynard Dixon stamp in brown, date. Back of sketch has a rough sketch of a man and woman. Titled and dated on back of frame with signed label on back from Edith Hamlin Dixon, the artist's wife. 5 1/4" x 3 3/4."
