F-030 French Hussar "dolman". Soft light green wool with "O" designs on a 2 1/4" stand-up collar and a decorative "trefoil" pattern within a double-pointed line of continuous gold bullion "O's", on cuffs. Eighteen rows of double gold bullion cord "frogging" - with the button loop ends rewound with later brighter gold bullion wire. Five gilt brass "ball" buttons in each of the eighteen rows of frogging. Gold cord shoulder board is missing from left shoulder. A flat gold bullion 1/2" tape borders the perimeter of the waist and also continues up each side of the back to the lower shoulder. The original lining was reinforced by a later upper section of satin material. Original striped sleeve linings. Overall the tunic shows some wear and effects of age and has one repair under the right arm pit. Circa 1860 - 70. II-
