Description
19th-20th century AD. A greenheart six-piece fishing rod set by Hardy of Alnwick with two agate-lined tip sections, all fitted with brass joints and snake rings (one missing to lower section) with 'Hardy's W fitting' wedge reel socket and sliding collar 'Regd. 16.8.73' to the butt; the butt ferrule inscribed 'HARDY BROS / MAKERS / ALNWICK / 55342' in four lines; with original Hardy's labelled canvas roll-up carry case (a tear to the butt compartment sleeve and silk label perished").
