after ROBERT ADAM (English 1728-1792) A THREE PIECE ENGLISH NEOCLASSICAL STYLE MAHOGANY SIDEBOARD, 20TH CENTURY, the breakfront top with leaf carved edge over a curved drawer centering a ram's head carved pull within adorsed beribboned floral festoons and leafy scrolls, flanked by two foliate and swag decorated drawers and leaf carved stiles on tapered square bellflower adorned legs with leaf carved terminals on toupie feet, centering a pierced foliate apron, height: 41", width: 94", depth: 23"; the whole flanked by two pedestals with rectangular gadroon edge tops over a cavetto frieze with bead and leaf carved edges above ram's head and festooned drawer fronts, above foliate spray decorated cupboard doors, one opening to an interior with a compartmented green baize lined silver drawer over a shelf, and the other opening to a nine bottle zinc lined cellarette drawer, the whole on tapered leaf carved legs ending in toupie feet, model number J410, height: 42", width: 17", depth: 22".
Condition
The whole with mild expected surface scratches from light use. There is some mild craquelure observed to the top with one small gouge, a notable larger surface scratch, and some areas of rubbing to the finish intermittently throughout. The central ram's head pull has some rub wear on the nose. Both pedestal tops appear with horizontal humidity cracks on the grain. One pull on a pedestal has a small chip loss to the curve of the horn at back. There are two chip losses, one to the swag on a drawer, and the other on a foot. Brass rail now lacking. Overall in very good condition, wear commensurate with age.
