Description
French, first half 19th century. A carved walnut Empire armchair, upholstered in green silk with laurel wreaths, having a squared back with curving arms, with squared tapering legs in the form of an Egyptian pharaoh, with a gilded headdress, terminating in a pair of feet. Apparently unmarked. Approximate height 36.5", width 23.75", depth 23", seat depth 19.75", seat to floor 16.75".
Condition
Wear commensurate with age and use. Some minor seam separation with some expected nicks and dings to frame. Repaired break/cracks to arm, with some staining to wood. Some staining to wood. Crack to seat rail. Some repairs to handholds. Fabric is clean and in good condition - appears unused. No other visible signs of damage or repair.
