Description
Japan, Meiji period (1868-1912) Bronze with patina, it has a circular form with a handle covered in bamboo. The unreflecting side is decorated in relief with an aquatic landscape in which there are cranes, a turtle and a pine tree, all symbols used to wish a long life. Signed “Fujiwara Yoshikaneâ€. The wooden box is decorated with gold and red lacquer on a dark background with a bush with berries; the support is in lacquered wood, but does not belong to the mirror. It is decorated with gold with a series of lozenges. Mirror 16.53 x 11.81 in. Box 17.72 x 12.79 in. Support open 20 x 15 x 10.23 in. Lot accompanied by export license.
