Condition
In good "as found" condition. Overall, the chair is sturdy and solid. The finish exhibits normal rubbing, wear, mars and abrasions consistent with age and use. The extensive marquetry veneer is in very good condition overall, with a few minor scattered minor blemishes and losses. Other more notable losses include losses to the inlaid panel on the vertical surface of one arm end. The losses are about 3/16" by 3" and 1/4" by 1-1/4". The seat exhibits a shrinkage separation at the line where two boards are glued together. There is some movement at that joint when pressed on. There is a loss to veneer along that seam approximately 3/16" by 2-1/2". There are also a couple losses to the mahogany veneer on the seat, one about the size of a large thumbnail, the other about fingernail-sized. One molding at the top of a front leg, adjoining the apron is loose. The inside return molding that joins to it is missing. That molding is about 1" by about 1-1/2".
