Description
Very rare early prototype helmet. From the experimental Johnsonville Centrifuge at Johnsonville Naval Air Development Center (NADC). Designed in approximately 1958-1959 as an early prototype for space astronauts. Collected in 1961 by a physicist working in the laboratory testing blood gasses after the Navy men were subjected to the rigors of the human centrifuge. Bears original US NAVY decal. Measures 12" x 10" x 14" Good condition with wear and natural deterioration of rubber elements. In house USA continental shipping $85 plus insurance
