Item Details

Description

Most unusual T.J. Wheatley Pottery vase having cherubs perched on either end of the piece, clad only with a heavy cloth which nearly encircles the form. Incised T.J. Wheatley Pottery 1880 on the underside. Height is 9 3/4 inches and width is 14 inches. A stabilized horizontal crack runs across one end of the piece, crossing over the legs of one cherub. Other than a sea creature vase with sea shells, this is the most aggressive Wheatley piece we have encountered.
