George Washington: Lovely "Forget me not" Box in Form of a Gilt-edged Book. Made circa late 1840s, as similar ones were produced for John Quincy Adams, Andrew Jackson, and Zachary Taylor, all of whom expired between 1845 and 1850. Beautiful detail, with mirror on inside of lid and glass covering on front and back. As is usually seen with these boxes, the lid is separated from the "book" at the spine (an easy fix), but otherwise a superior example. 1.75" x 2.75" x 0.75".
