Angel Cordero Jr. Autographed Black Racing Saddle Used to Win the 1984 Preakness Stakes on "Gate Dancer" W/COA - This amazing piece is the racing saddle used by Angel Cordero to win the Preakness Stakes for the second time in 1984. Cordero first won the race aboard "Codex" in 1980, and the second time aboard "Gate Dancer" in 1984. The saddle has been autographed by Cordero underneath, and also has his initials written underneath and on the bottom of the foot straps. The saddle measures approx. 15" L x 7", and the foot straps measure 13" L. The piece is in good condition, and will come with a certificate of authenticity. Angel Cordero Jr. (born November 8, 1942) is one of the leading horse racing jockeys of all time. He is the first Puerto Rican to be inducted into the United States' Racing Hall of Fame, and the first Puerto Rican jockey to win all three of the American Classic Races, the Kentucky Derby, Preakness Stakes, and the Belmont Stakes. Cordero was also the winner of four Breeders' Cup races, was the leading rider at Saratoga Race Course for thirteen years, and in 1987, became the fourth jockey to win over 6000 races.
