Salvador Dali 1969 Heliogravure with Woodblock Print from his Alice in Wonderland Series. Entitled "The Rabbit Sends in a Little Bill". 1969 limited edition - 169/300 in Roman Numerals - pencil-signed heliogravure on Rives paper, from Dali's illustrations of Lewis Carroll's "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland." Pencil signed and numbered. This piece depicts a well-known scene from chapter 4, when Alice visits the White Rabbit's house. The White Rabbit mistakes Alice for his maid, Marianne. He sends Alice into his house to retrieve his gloves, however, Alice rapidly outgrows the house after drinking from a bottled labeled "Drink Me." The White Rabbit then sends in the lizard Bill to "smoke" her out. Vibrant colors. Measures 34 x 24 inches.
