Description
FREE-BLOWN CELERY GLASS, ruby-cased deep bowl with tooled rim, raised on a colorless hollow hourglass-form stem and thick circular foot with rough pontil mark. Sandwich Co-operative Glass Co. 1888-1891. 8 3/4" H, 4 1/2" D rim, 4" D foot.
Undamaged with some very light wear.
Literature: Rim as Barlow/Kaiser - The Glass Industry in Sandwich, Vol. 4, p. 346, fig. 4378 which descended in the family of Sandwich Co-op founder John Murray.
Provenance: The Joan E. Kaiser Collection of Sandwich and related glass (Acc. #08.9).
