TUPAC SHAKUR'S CALIFORNIA LICENSE PLATES AND REGISTRATION, FROM HIS ROLLS-ROYCE
Pair of stamped aluminum California license plates, each 6" x 12", bearing the license number "3RQS301" embossed in blue, and with the name of the state in the "lipstick" script adopted in 1994. The rear plates bear reflective stickers indicating that the plates were valid through March of 1997. Accompanying the plates is the registration card for Shakur's 1995 black Rolls-Royce Corniche IV convertible, issued on July 3, 1996, and valid from March 18, 1996 through March 18, 1997. The card bears the aforementioned license number, and shows that the car was registered to Marion "Suge" Knight, the owner of Death Row Records, Shakur's record label at the time of his death. Also present with these items is the original manila mailing envelope, with the Vehicle Identification Number, "Death Row Records/Rolls" and "Tupac" inscribed upon it in black ink. All are in fine condition. Our consignor comments: "Tupac caused quite a scene driving his black convertible around town with his homies - beige leather interior, top down...his Rolls was his pride and joy". Consigned by an intimate friend and relative of Tupac Shakur who was also personally mentored by the great rapper. The consignor remains very active in the music and film industry. His signed and notarized letter of provenance accompanies this item.
