The horn grips carved with chevrons and embellished with brass bosses and tangband. The brass guard of characteristic form with rolled quillons terminating in split palmettes borrowed from the Ottoman palette. The leather-covered wooden scabbard with brass mounts, engraved en suite with the hilt. The broad, lightly curved, single-edged and multifullered with pronounced back edge and king’s head mark struck at the forte. Beginning of the 18th century. Light wear. Overall length 96.8cm.
