English edition of his Tales, etc. The second series has the table of contents leaf inserted between the frontispiece and title page, oddly - following the title page is the first page of the first story, "The Assignation". The first volume is No. I of the "Readable Books" series, the second volume is No. IX. With old rubberstamps of Hotel Beua-Sejour Vevey to early leaves, partially removed bookplate in first series, hotel name in gilt at feet of spines.

Rubbing and wear to covers, spines fading, one with stain; 2 leaves in first series remargined, title page of second series with a few repairs on verso; about very good.
