Description
Late Victorian period, intricate bud vase, the body pierced with Rococo-style decorations of floral vines & trellis. Made by William Comyns, London 1897. * William Comyns established his SilversmithFirm in 1859, when he purchased Robert Tagg®s Silversmith business. The business was based in London. In 1885, Comyn®s sons Charles Harling Comyns & Richard Harling Comryns joined the family business. The business wasrenamed William Comyn®s & Sons. Richard Harling Comyns was the last surviving family member to run the business, & after his death in 1953, the business was purchased by Bernard Copping. The new ownership marked ashift in the prominence of the firm. William Comyn®s hallmark is a ®WC® inscribed inside a four pointed oval. Approx 6" H.
