We would like to thank Julius Lowy Frame and Restoring Company of New York for the following condition report:  the painting is executed in oil on a medium wove linen canvas, which has been lined with glue to a secondary canvas support. The glue lining appears to have age, and is stable. Ultraviolet examination is somewhat obscured by the presence of a discolored natural resin varnish which seems to have been on the painting for a long time, however some recent areas of inpainting are visible under UV in the sky area at the left, and in the water. Detergent tests confirm this discolored varnish, and we can assume there is some degree of older prior restoration under the old, hard varnish layer. Framed Dimensions 30.5 X 50.5 Inches
