Jean Marais (1913-1998), group of eight black enameled terra cotta pieces, each with an impressed signature, consisting of 4 pitchers, a baluster vase, a covered bowl, a candlestick, and a footed chalice. Candlestick- H.- 10 1/2 in., Dia.- 6 1/2 in.
Condition
Condition consistent with age. Repair to four breaks in the handle of one large pitcher. Flea-size paint loss to the rim. An approximate ¼ inch chip to the rim of the small pitcher. Two flea-size paint losses near the bottom of one textured pitcher. Wax residue along the top of the candlestick. A remarkable set.
