Description
Group of Six Pieces of Wedgwood Jasperware, 20th c., consisting of a basalt handled urn, four pale blue covered urns, and a pale blue campana urn; Largest- H.- 13 in., W.- 6 1/4 in., D.- 5 3/4 in. Provenance: The Estate of Sidney J. Mazarat III, New Orleans, Louisiana.
Condition
Condition consistent with age and use. Half of one lid lacking from one pale blue urn. Faint yellow discoloration on the lid and socle of one example. Crazing in leaves and figures, and four 1 to 3 mm cracks in figures of same example. Two pea-size yellow spots on another piece. Possible repair to bottoms of white scrolling decoration on one example. Crack across middle of one white piece. Apparent repair to thinnest section of basalt urn and to ½ inch section of base. Approximate ¼ inch chip to floral handle of largest example. Four 2 mm cracks in figures. Pea-size chip, pea-size yellow residue and 1 ½ inch indentation in rim of largest example (indentation likely a firing flaw but possibly a sanded chip). Two minute black dots in clouds of largest example. A lovely group.
