Pair of French Henri II Style Carved Walnut Side Chairs, 19th c., the highly carved bird crest over an arched upholstered back within rope twist supports above a rectangular seat on block and ring turned legs, on toupie feet, joined by rope twist turned stretchers, in pastel foliate upholstery with brass tack decoration, H.- 44 1/4 in., W.- 19 1/4 in., D.- 19 in.

Condition

Condition consistent with age. Holes from wood beetle exposure scattered throughout. An approximate 3 inch crack on the left side of one back. Two 1 inch cracks in pierced carving in second example. Light wear on the legs and upholstery. A nice pair. ALL PROPERTY IS SOLD "AS IS."
