Set of Six French Louis XIII Style Carved Oak Dining Chairs, 19th c., the arched leaf crest over a caned back surrounded by pierced carving and flanked by rope twist and black legs with toupie feet, joined by an H-form stretcher; together with a pair of Louis XIII style caned chairs with an arched scrolled crest over like supports and legs, (8 Pcs.), Six Chairs- H.- 42 3/4 in., W.- 18 in., D.- 19 in.

Condition

Condition consistent with age and use. Scattered ½ inch chips along seat edges. Three balls to finials lacking. Repair to vertical break along 6 inch section of rope twist support. Wood beetle damage to half of one foot. Repair to break through back left leg and break through stretcher of one example. Repair to vertical break in 5 inch section of back right leg. 1 cm hole in front right leg. 1 inch crack to back of one seat. 2 inch repair to break in back left leg with visible bolt. Light wear throughout caning. A nice set. ALL PROPERTY IS SOLD "AS IS."
