French Hand Painted Porcelain Sevres Style Dinner Plate, c. 1900, with a gilt scalloped edge, and a white ground with three concentric blue and gilt borders, enclosing bands of floral decoration, and a central flower basket, verso with a Sevres-style mark with a central "P," stamped with a retailer's mark of A. Schmidt & Son, NY, H.- 1 in., Dia.- 10 1/4 in. Provenance: The Estate of Sidney J. Mazarat III, New Orleans, Louisiana.
Condition
Condition consistent with age and use. A ¾ inch repair with yellow discoloration along the edge. An approximate ½ inch hairline crack extending toward the center. Heavy wear to the gilt along approximately 8 inches of the edge. A pea-size shallow indentation, possibly a firing flaw, near the center. A lovely piece.
