HERGE: (1907-1983) Georges Prosper Remi. Belgian Cartoonist, creator of The Adventures of Tintin. An excellent, charming original black pen and ink sketch drawn, signed and inscribed by Herge on a small oblong 8vo (5.5 x 4) piece, n.p., June 1979. The cartoonist has drawn images of the heads of his most famous characters, Tintin and his faithful dog Snowy (who holds a bone in his mouth). Signed ('Herge') in bold black ink with an inscription in French, making a reference to Tintin, beneath the sketches. The verso of the page bears various blue printed caricatures by Herge, each within frames, indicating that the drawing, signature and inscription may have originally been contained in a book and later neatly trimmed from one of the larger front free endpapers.
