A Victorian mahogany Cox's patent railway ticket office machine / till with brass fittings, fitted with patent return check bell, fitted with glass backed single side for stacking coins, slotted lever operated compartment ringing bell, small change bowl and lockable drawer. 16'' high x 17'' wide. ' These tills were invented by John Cox, to track the payments made and prevent disputes arising over values of coins tendered by customers
