Description
A Keswick School of Industrial Arts silver-plate on copper hors d'oeuvres or entree dish. Attributed to Jeremiah Richardson, having a strapwork handle and Celtic knotwork designs between the three planished divisions, stamped KSIA KESWICK B314 beneath, 10.75, (27cm) wide. A slightly smaller but comparable example signed by Richardson sold PFK Penrith, Cumbria, 19th July 2006 lot 1.Jeremiah Richardson worked as a craftsman at the School from before 1891 until 1910, becoming Foreman in 1905. His work was featured in 'The Studio Magazine' in 1900 and 1902.
Condition
Very slight dark speckling to bowls, minor plate rubbing to undeneath where bowls contact ground.
