Description
A late Victorian sewing chest. The moulded rectangular top over three long drawers each with vestiges of caption to fielded panel, the lowest for 'NEEDLES' (now containing cotton reels), the middle drawer similar, the uppermost with 200 (two hundred) divisions, the ten rows each numbered from 3 to 8 and 3/7, 4/8, 5/9 and 6/10, with triangular handles on plinth base, 16.5 x 9.75 x 13 high, (42cm x 24.5cm x 33cm) (a/f); together with a treen coffee grinder with crank handle, a chip-carved oak box, and a large pair of carved wooden shop display scissors, (4).
Condition
Chest has loss to right side of top drawer. Labels a/f, one handle missing, general scuffs, knocks and wear, a/f, sold as seen.Scissors have minor losses.
