Description
A golden oak fall-front stationary box. Circa 1900, the hinged rectangular cover enclosing a fitted fold-out interior with letter racks, drawers, and a writing slope, 13.5 x 8.5 x 10 high, (34.5cm x 21.5cm x 25cm), plus a Victorian brass-mounted walnut bookslide, a Mignon portable typewriter and a Jones sewing machine, (4).
Condition
Box has been fitted with later thumbpiece to cover, plus re-lined (late leather beneath lid, beneath hinges, to small drawer at right of letter racks, and to writing slope). Minor wear to left corner of plinth.Bookslide has minor flaking to ebonised base but is overall sound.Typewriter has general case wear but is overall sound.Sewing machine has extensive rusting.
