With a foreword by Sotheby Parke Bernet's photography expert, Anne Horton, this volume takes the reader on a visual journey from Cairo south (upstream on the River Nile, to all of Egypt's major monuments. It features pictures of the sphinx, pyramids, and other subjects, by Antonio Beato, Felix Bonfils, Maxime Du Camp, Francis Firth, J. B. Greene, Felix Tenyard, and about twenty other pioneering workers. This copy inscribed by Lorimer. Near fine condition.
