This dreamy book, a “quest for the meaning of life,†features poems and pictures. The likes of Emily Dickenson and E. E. Cummings provided poems, while Dorr created all the images. Most of the photographs feature women or light abstractions, and are printed in high-quality gravure, bleeding off the pages. Nell Dorr (1893 -1988) was a professional photographer whose creative pictures never fit into a movement. She produced five books, most of them with softly-focused images of women and children.
