Description
WELLER SICARD ART POTTERY VASE, with a bulbous base and conical neck, iridescent glaze and foliate design. Signed on sides, "Sicard" and "Weller". Weller Pottery, Foultenham, Ohio. 1902-1907. 4 7/8" H.
Excellent undamaged condition.
Provenance: From a Shenandoah Valley private collection.
Catalogue Note: French artist Jacques Sicard and his assistant Henri Gellie were contracted by Weller Pottery for five years to develop a new forms, glazes, and decorations for what would be the Sicard line. Following their five year contract, Sicard and Gellie returned to France.
