AMERICAN LOUIS MENDEZ MID-CENTURY SCULPTURAL CERAMIC EWER / PITCHER, in a figural form having a bulbous base, spout on shoulder, and face on rim, white glaze on interior. Incised on base "LUIZ / MENDEZ / PENNINGTON". Circa 1960. 13" H.
Excellent undamaged condition.
Provenance: Winslow Anderson estate sold to benefit the Huntington Museum of Art.
Catalogue Note: Louis Ernest Mendez (1929-2012) received his BA and MFA from the New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University in Alfred, New York where he worked with Charles Harder and Daniel Rhodes.
